Essex - On Feb. 12, John “Jack” B. Banz, Jr., 88, of Essex passed away in Franklin Square Hospice.
Mr. Banz was a lifelong Essex resident, living on Mace Avenue, Franklin Avenue and at the Golden Ring Co-Op. He was an avid gardener well-known for his roses, which he would hand out to merchants along Eastern Avenue.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Virginia Banz (nee Nash); cherished father of Melanie Constantino and husband Tony and Laurie Beck and husband Bruce; stepfather of Robert Bull and John Bull and his wife Mary. Also survived by many loving grandchildren and one brother, Richard N. Banz, Sr.
