Sparwasser, William T.
Essex - On Sept. 7, William T. Sparwasser surrendered the fight and joined his wife Carolyn Anna Sparwasser in life eternal.
He had had a long and productive life, taking on many of life’s challenges with a smile and positive attitude. He grew up in Dundalk and later purchased a family home on William’s Avenue in Essex. He retired to Port Deposit.
He was a aircraft fuel maintenance support technician with the U.S. Air Force 8th Fighter Bomber Squadron during the Korean War. He joined Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason by his son William L. Sparwasser P.M., Millington Lodge #166 AF & AM. William worked at the American Can Company.
He leaves behind five sons, William L., Carl J., Charles W., Wayne D., and Morrice T. Sparwasser, and daughters-in-law Gaynell, Cindy, Joyce, Ginger and Elizabeth. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sept 10 at the Connelly funeral Home of Essex, where religious services were conducted on Sept. 11. Additional memorial services were held at American Legion Post 148, Essex VFW Post 2621 and Millington Masonic Lodge #166. Internment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The ALS Foundation , DC/MD/VA Chapter, 7507 Standish Pl., Derwood, MD 20855.
