Lookadoo, Rodger Pittman -
Baltimore - On Oct. 3, at 6:25 p.m., Rodger Pittman Lookadoo passed away at Gilchrist Hospice Care facility after a long bout with cancer.
Rodger was born to Luther and Hazel Lookadoo on Sept. 5, 1940, in Fort Mill, S. C., and moved to Baltimore in 1942, where he graduated from Kenwood High School and then served a three year stint in the U.S. Army. Rodger was employed by Winner Distributing Company as a beer salesman for 40 years, which made him a familiar figure in many home town taverns.
What Rodger enjoyed the most was recreational boating and was an active member of the Middle River boating community since the late 1950s, participating as a member and officer in several yacht clubs and serving as the Commodore of Eastern Yacht Club in 1992 and Galloway Yacht Club in 2007.
Rodger is survived by his daughters Stacey Petrovia and Tiffany Chalmers and his grandchildren Corbin Keene, Emma and Casey Chalmers and Paige Petrovia, and his sister, Phyllis L Murphy. Rodger became close friends with countless boaters in his half century on the Chesapeake Bay and will be very missed by all.
Visitation was held on Oct. 7 at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Ave., where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. Interment private.
