Eckard, Dennis Eugene
Perry Hall - On July 20, Dennis Eugene Eckard of Perry Hall. He served as an administrator at CCBC Essex but was well-known for his work with the Perry Hall Improvement Association (including serving as its president for three years). He was involved in the negotiations that led to the purchase and preservation of the Perry Hall Mansion and worked to create the Perry Paw Dog Park.
“Dennis Eckard was a tireless worker for causes he believed in, including recreation and parks and the betterment of Perry Hall. Even as he got into his 70s, Dennis was going door-to-door to solicit memberships for the Perry Hall Improvement Association,” noted County Councilman David Marks. “He had strong connections that helped advance projects like the protection of the Perry Hall Mansion and funding for new parks in our community. Although we disagreed on politics, he was a good friend who I trusted on so many decisions. He will be missed by many in Perry Hall and throughout Baltimore County.”
Dennis was the devoted father of Cindy Brazil and Todd Eckard and dear grandfather of Jared Brazil. Graveside service was held at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens on July 22.
